Can i email a text to a phone

I live in Australia and I have vodafone network ph number. As the sender, your cell phone account is not involved at all.

Only the recipient will be subject to charges, if any. I send SMS to Cell emails regularly but when I get replies Gmail never shows the persons name, only their [email protected]. I dont know any of my friends numbers by memory. I have to open the email to ses who it is from. Is there a way to have Gmail label these replies as they do real emails with their name in the Inbox? I have added their [email protected] to the address book but it doesnt change anything. Can anyone help me?

Is there a Gmail preference to change? So … given a phone number how do you find the carrier so you can use this technique? I am also having trouble with txt. Can u plz help?

If i get my text through emails. If your on a pay as you phone. I have been able to send and receive successfully for over a year until November 4, and I cannot figure out why I can no longer get responses to my e-mail text. I hope someone can help! I tried to send a text via e-mail to three friends, using the vtext. However, I never received a response from them via text, which was unusual.

I use Outlook as my e-mail client and wowway. All sent successfully, but I cannot not receive a text response at those addresses. Could it be a Windows 7 update that is preventing the responses from arriving at my inbox? I even checked my wowway. Now, beginning about 6 weeks ago, I can still send from my computer, but I do not receive their response.

I am working with Windows 8. Microsoft also told me that they think the cell providers have changed something in their software and that there might be a setting on their cell phone that needs to be changed.

I have only been using this method a couple months, but no probs to friends on Verizon or T-Mobile. I finally had to tell them I would only send them short one sentence messages and longer ones would have to go to their old email addy which they rarely use. You may want to include Project Fi in your list. Use [email protected] for Cricket. In order to do the texting through email, we essentially need to know what the recipients cell provider name right? How we suppose to know that if its a cold contact. You have to call them and ask what carrier they use, and make sure they give you the actual carrier and not just their phone service provider as they often differ.

Received a text this aftertoon and was trying to figure out who they are. Does anybody know anymore for Boost moblie and T-moblie other than the one they provided cause it seems not to work. So I sent myself a text from my Consumer Cellular phone and the address came up as [email protected]. Overall this has worked pretty well. Have had issues with Verizon and vtext tho. The other friend who has Verizon, my messages to them get cut off mid sentence, shortened etc. Links sent to websites often either do not work or are deleted en route. I started using this method because I refuse to learn how to text, I type well on my qwerty keyboard but texting sucks on a phone IMO.
